Developed by Fritz Smith, MD in the early 1970’s, Zero Balancing is a body-mind therapy that uses skilled touch to address the relationship between energy and structures of the body. The practitioner uses finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganise.
The treatment is based on the premise that energy exists in the body, with its own anatomy, function and disorders. As energy flows around the body it interrelates with the body’s structure, in particular the skeleton. The treatment focuses on key joints of the skeleton which conduct the force of gravity and govern posture and movement.
Zero Balancing aims to relieve bodily pain and stress; release restrictions in movement; promote a feeling of well-being; and help you to feel more attuned to your body.
